What To Do If Facebook Won’t Show Yours Ads

I recently created a Facebook campaign that for some reason received ZERO impressions for a few days in a row. It was very frustrating. In this video I show you the simple change I made to my ad set that helped get traffic flowing again.

I’m totally having this issue too, and I’ve been trying a bunch of different things. I’ll let you know how it goes for me- Thanks!

Sounds risky! By entering $25 you are authorizing FB to charge you “up to” that amount for a single click.

    You are crazy dude.

I made a mistake once and checked the first box there, “get the most website clicks for the best price.”

As you show it defaulted to $5. I spent $1,000 in 15 minutes doing that. If you set it 10, 20 or 50 like you suggest you could go bankrupt in an hour.

Good tip, James. I have chosen to pause the ad that is getting all the traffic and then everything seems to go back to normal.
Facebook has been making changes too fast and breaking everything here and there. What do you think?

    Thanks again

Hey Lenny, I agree man. The last big change that happened about 6 weeks ago killed a lot of campaigns. It’s all good though. Keeps us on our toes!

    Hi James,

When you put $25 , FB will change you for 1000 impressions for a max $25 per 1000 views or per 1-click ?
    I saw per impression there.
    Thanks

If you choose Clicks To Website and CPM it would be per 1000 impressions.

Same thing happened to me the other week as well. I haven’t done a lot of Facebook advertising, but I’ve found when I set how much I’m willing to pay per click, my price per website click is significantly lower than allowing Facebook to automatically choose.

Hey Greg, it’s weird… I’ve seen it go both ways.

Hi James, how long do you let it run for like that before switching it back to O-cpm. I didn’t do that but did change to impressions at $17.00 per 1000 (facebook was suggesting between $3 and $12, even though on auto its usually between $13 and $15). I’m not sure how long to leave it running this way before switching back.

    What do you recommend?

Hi Tracie, I always look at results in terms of what I’m paying to acquire a new customer. If those numbers are within the goal we’ve set I’ll often just leave it alone. I would create a new campaign and start fresh if I were to change it.

    Hi James,
I started a campaign last week, with the goal of getting people to interact with my app (a contest). However, FB wouldn’t let me do that; said I didn’t have enough interaction yet on my page. So I made it to get Likes but when the ad was clicked to land them on the app…but got a bunch of Likes but almost no contest sign-ups (interaction with the app). Just wondering what I should do to get the interaction / sign-up rather than only the Likes.

What about for an “optimize to website conversion” campaign? Do you choose the Get the Most at Best price first, and then only if it’s not working, switch it to the Set the Amt the Conversion is worth to you?

      Hi Chen! Yes, exactly!

I had a similar issue where FB was actually spending but sending very little traffic on my conversion campaign. Like 5-10 impressions per dollar instead of the 100+ impressions per dollar that I’m used to. Have you encountered this issue? If so, do you have any suggestions for fixing it?
